Ha, ha, ha! Sane? Is that possible? Well, I find that I keep myself sane by spending as much time as possible in the classroom with the children. I am not teaching in the classroom right now, but am working in the front office with the Principal. Sometimes it is difficult to get away from all of the hassles of the front office, but I try to do so everyday. I find that I have the best days, the most sane days, when I have been around our students for large amounts of time. They lift me up! Every time I look at them, I am reminded of why we do what we do. It is easy to get bogged down in the politics and the day-to-day drama of education, but when I remember why we do it, it helps me put things in perspective. Despite budget cuts, staffing shortages, etc,.....Failure is NOT an option!
