Just a little bit of planning to keep the teacher's personal website current (even updating weekly) will go a long way in improving communication. It is especially effective as a place to provide kudos to students (or to the whole class) who worked hard to learn new things. This can produce a huge amount of parent trust, satisfaction, and pride.
